Site Editorial Commentary：Provides Case information from Subordinate and most of the High Courts in India

The eCourts Services App provides comprehensive information related to cases filed in subordinate courts and most High Courts across India.

Users can tailor the app to focus exclusively on District Courts, High Courts, or both, offering flexibility based on individual needs. The app defaults to District Courts but can be easily configured to High Court or a combined view.

This application is a valuable resource for citizens, litigants, lawyers, Police, government agencies, and other institutional litigants involved in the Indian judicial system.

Key services are organized under distinct sections: Search by CNR, Case Status, Cause List, calendar, and My Cases, ensuring efficient access to relevant information.

Every case filed in District and Taluka Courts via the Case Information System receives a unique CNR (Case Number Record). Entering this CNR provides immediate access to the case's current status and detailed information.

Case Status can be searched using various criteria, including Case Number, Party Name, Filing Number, FIR Number, Advocate Name, Relevant Act, and Case Type, offering multiple avenues for finding specific cases.

The app interface clearly presents these search options with identifiable icons under the Case Status tab.

Initial search results display the Case Number and names of the involved parties for quick identification.

Clicking on a Case Number link reveals the current case status and the complete case history, presented with expandable sections for detailed viewing.

Case Details include information such as Case Type, Filing Number, Filing Date, Registration Number, Registration Date, and the CNR Number.

The Case Status section provides key details like the First Hearing Date, Next Hearing Date, Case Stage, Court Number, and the Judge's designation.

Expandable sections such as petitioner and Advocate, Respondent and Advocate, Acts, Case Hearing History, Judgment and Order, and Transfer Details offer in-depth information when clicked.

The Case Hearing History displays a comprehensive record of the case from the initial hearing to the present, with links to view the business recorded on each hearing date.

The Judgment and Order section provides links to all judgments and orders passed and uploaded for the selected case, allowing users to view the documents directly.

An "Add Case" button, located in the top right corner while viewing case history, allows users to save cases for easy access. Once saved, the button changes to "Saved Case."

Under the Case Status option, users can search for cases by Advocate Name or Bar Code. Entering a registered advocate's Bar Code generates a list of all cases associated with that advocate.

The Date Case List feature generates a cause list of all cases involving an advocate, listed before all courts in the complex.

Litigants and lawyers can save cases of interest under the "My Cases" tab, creating a personalized case diary for convenient management and future reference.

The "Today’s Cases" button within "My Cases" filters the list to show only those cases scheduled for the current day. Users can also select a different date to view cases listed on that specific day.

Accessing case details through "My Cases" provides the option to "Remove Case" from the saved list.

A "Refresh" button next to "Today’s Cases" updates the information saved under "My Cases" to reflect the latest status.

The app displays a "connection error" message if a case cannot be updated or refreshed due to connectivity issues.

The Cause List option generates the cause list for a selected court.

The app includes a backup facility to save cases stored within the mobile device.

Users can export their data to a text file using the Export option.

The Import option allows users to restore data to the "My Cases" tab from a previously saved backup file.

Additional features include a calendar, caveat search functionality, and the ability to locate court complexes on a map.
