Aruba Utilities provides a comprehensive suite of tools designed for monitoring and troubleshooting wireless LANs from HPE Aruba Networking. It caters to network engineers and IT professionals managing multi-AP WLANs, especially those utilizing Aruba infrastructure.This application offers a range of functionalities, with some tools compatible with any WLAN and others specifically designed as clients for Aruba APIs.
Key features include:
• Wi-Fi Monitor: Provides real-time insights into the Wi-Fi environment, displaying the current access point, RF channels, RSSI measurements, PHY rates, and neighboring access points. It also captures handover events and displays AP names when configured.
• Telnet/SSH Client: Enables secure remote access to Aruba devices, facilitating network configuration and monitoring directly from your mobile device.
• AirWave Client: Integrates with your network's management system to download floorplan images and AP details. Visualize AP locations relative to your position, access AP loading, channel, and power details, and utilize estimated heatmaps and site survey functions.
• Central API Client: Facilitates interaction with Aruba Central. While setup can be complex due to long IDs and tokens, the client allows for Driving JSON queries from your phone UI.
• Device Tab: Displays essential device information, including Wi-Fi, IP, DHCP, and cellular status.
• Data Logging: Records measurements to plain-text log files and CSV reports, which can be emailed for later analysis.
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Scan: Detects nearby iBeacons, Aruba beacons, and other BLE devices, providing UUID, index values, and signal strength measurements. Includes the BluConsole function.
• CBRS: Offers visibility into the cellular side of the phone, aiding in troubleshooting public and private 4G networks.
• Ranging: An FTM/802.11mc/rtt client that provides distance measurements when used with FTM-enabled access points.
• Network Testing Tools: Includes Android versions of iPerf, Ping, DNS, and mDNS for comprehensive network testing.
