Organization is key with Voice Notebook. Notes can be tagged and filtered by tags, making it easy to find what you're looking for. The app also includes word and character counters, which are particularly useful for bilingual voice input. You can export notes to your Documents or Download folder, or send them to any text program. Text files can also be imported from file managers or Google Drive.

Data security is also a priority, allowing you to save backup copies of your notes with a customizable history depth. You can even configure automatic uploads to Google Drive when you save notes.

For added convenience, Voice Notebook features a widget for quick start. It's integrated with Google Assistant, so you can start and stop note recording with voice commands. The notes can also be read aloud by the Android TTS engine.

To ensure optimal performance, the application requires the default Android speech recognizer and is optimized for voice input from Google. Therefore, your device (phone or tablet) must have the Google Speech Recognizer app installed and updated. For improved speech recognition, an internet connection is desirable, and installing a language pack for local voice recognition is recommended. Without a local language pack, the application may stop and give an error if the internet connection is lost. Refer to the application help for instructions on installing the language pack.

Since version 2.1.5, Voice Notebook includes a Wear OS app with a complication for easy starting.
