Chile Alert provides a simple and effective way to stay informed about the latest earthquakes, tsunami bulletins, and meteorological bulletins in Chile. Each event includes detailed information such as magnitude, date, and time of occurrence.

The app presents crucial information about earthquake intensity, including whether the earthquake has the potential to cause a tsunami. All event details are conveniently displayed on a map, allowing users to pinpoint the exact location of each event.

Users can easily access seismic reports of both national and international tremors. These reports often include a seismogram image (a record of the earthquake from a real instrument), when available.

The app also features a dedicated tab containing a list of seismic stations in Chile, equipped with instruments to record seismic events (seismographs). This allows users to visualize seismic records and monitor seismic activity in specific areas. This feature is particularly useful for continuous monitoring.

Chile Alert delivers real-time reporting of seismic events. Within minutes of an event, the app provides a detailed tremor report, complete with a seismogram and map.

The app issues timely notifications before potential seismic events or tsunami warnings that could impact Chile.

Chile Alert offers five distinct types of alarms:

* Message / Notice / New report or common notification (Alarm No. 1).
* Seismic alert: Notifies users of tremors detected in real time (Alarm No. 2).
* Tsunami warning: Provides preventive information when an earthquake occurs in other countries with Pacific coast, in case of possible danger and then confirmed with SHOA data (Alarm No. 3).
* Seismic Alarm: Activated by large earthquakes that could affect multiple regions of Chile. This alarm triggers a pop-up window with a sound that can only be silenced by closing the window (Alarm No. 4).
* Tsunami Alarm: Similar to Alarm No. 3 and No. 4, this alarm opens a pop-up window indicating an impending tsunami, which can only be dismissed by closing the window (Alarm No. 5).

Chile Alert gathers data from reputable sources, including:

* National Seismological Center of the University of Chile
* Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA)
* Meteorological Directorate of Chile
* Pacific Tsunami Warning Center
* European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC)
* Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS)
* Geofon - GFZ Postdam
* Geological Service of the United States (USGS)

The app uses a color-coded indicator system to represent the severity of events:

* Green indicator (State 1 Warning): Indicates low-intensity earthquakes or tsunami warnings that are unlikely to generate a tsunami on the Chilean coast.
* Orange indicator (State 2 Alert): Indicates medium-intensity earthquakes that could cause damage, or tsunami warnings under evaluation.
* Red indicator (State 3 Alarm): Indicates high-intensity earthquakes (earthquakes) or tsunami alerts that are likely to generate a tsunami on the Chilean coast.

Users can choose to display maps in either normal or satellite view.

* According to Chilean convention:

* Tremor: A sensible earthquake of low to medium intensity.
* Earthquake: A sensitive earthquake of great intensity that causes damage (typically greater than or equal to 6.5 °).
