The description of Arc Lighting
Site Editorial Commentary:Enable Notification Lighting and Music Visualizing for your smartphone
Arc Lighting is a powerful Android application that enhances your device's aesthetics with customizable edge lighting effects. SymetiumUI leverages accessibility service for optional features, including setting the navigation bar color to match the foreground app's primary color and allowing users to create custom presets for different locations within the phone. No personal information is collected during this process. This application allows you to use edge lighting with various indicators such as audio visualization, notification lighting, critical or low battery warnings, and a charge indicator. The ring can also be displayed on your Always-On Display (AOD). Please note that the AOD feature is currently in beta and may experience occasional interruptions. It is recommended to try it with a third-party AOD app if it doesn't work with your stock one. Ensure that both Samsung/stock AOD and Samsung Edge Lighting are disabled in display settings. Verify that the third-party AOD activates correctly when you lock your phone, and ensure AOD is enabled in Arc Lighting with override set to off. If you prefer not to download a third-party AOD, use the override toggle within the app, noting that this will force a fingerprint icon on the display due to Samsung's system requirements, which is not part of this app.
Key Features:
- Highly customizable lighting effects for Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, and Note 10, as well as OnePlus devices and even unsupported devices. Choose from a diverse range of colors, animations, and styles.
- Manual alignment adjustment for unsupported devices (NEW).
- Adjustable glow effect that can be toggled on or off.
- Notification lighting for both when the display is on or off.
- music lighting that synchronizes the light to your music (disables other lights when enabled).
- Battery indicator lighting for charging, low, and critical battery states. (Ensure custom zones are set for proper functionality).
- Device overheating indicator for gamers and power users.
- Rotation animation that can be enabled or disabled.
- Gradient color options.

This application requires specific permissions to operate correctly:
- Accessibility: This permission is used for the ring to appear over your lock screen, always-on display, and to access the color of the current app. This permission is essential for the app's functionality.
- Draw Over Other Apps: This permission allows the ring to be displayed on top of other applications. This permission is crucial for the app's functionality.
- Microphone Access: This permission is used to analyze internal device audio for music lighting visualization. You will only be prompted for this permission if you enable the Audio Visualizer indicator for the ring.
- Storage Access: This permission is used to retrieve the color of your wallpaper. You will only be prompted for this permission if you choose to use the wallpaper color for the ring.
- Notification access: This permission is used to change the color of the ring after notifications.
Burn-in Concerns: Some Android displays may be susceptible to minor burn-in if a static element remains on the screen for prolonged periods. You can disable the default effect to display the ring only when an indicator is triggered. Samsung Galaxy devices include burn-in protection, which slightly shifts pixels periodically.
Known Issues:
- The app may crash when adjusting the ring position. Force stop and restart the app to resolve this. The adjustment process can be sensitive and finicky.
- The glow effect may sometimes freeze on top of everything. Turn the glow effect off if no light is displayed.
- Some indicators, such as battery temperature, may overlap other elements. Disable these indicators if the lighting is not working correctly.
- Only use the AOD override option if all other methods fail.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- How do I disable individual notifications? This feature is planned for a future update. Currently, you can set the color of each app you don't want to notify to 100% transparent in the custom colors settings.
- Is it free? This app is free to use indefinitely. You can watch a short ad per hour to continue using it. Watching multiple ads extends the usage time. Purchasing the app removes ads.
