The Cult is an engaging social deduction game designed for 4 to 10 players, perfect for game nights and gatherings. Players are secretly assigned roles, aligning them with either the village or the cult, setting the stage for intrigue and deception.The game unfolds over 5 rounds, with a new leader chosen each round. The leader selects players to embark on a quest, where each participant secretly decides whether to contribute to its success or failure. The village team must successfully complete at least 3 quests to secure victory.
Village members are bound to vote for the success of a quest, while cult members have the freedom to choose. All votes are cast in secret, and only the overall result of the quest is revealed to all players, adding an element of Mystery and mistrust.
While optional, including at least one seer role is highly recommended. The seer, a member of the village, possesses the ability to identify cult members. This knowledge can be strategically used to influence quests. However, at the game's conclusion, the cult gets a chance to identify the seer. If the cult correctly identifies the seer, they emerge victorious.
