Site Editorial Commentary:I made a game for a certain kind of person. To hurt them.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a uniquely punishing and philosophical climbing game designed for a specific type of player – one who embraces challenges and perseveres through frustration.Inspired by Jazzuo's 2002 B-Game classic 'Sexy hiking,' this game simplifies movement to its core: you use the mouse to control a hammer. Master this mechanic, and you'll be able to jump, swing, climb, and even fly, navigating treacherous landscapes.
Prepare yourself for a journey filled with great mysteries and a rewarding experience for those dedicated enough to reach the mountain's peak.
As Jazzuo wisely stated: "The hiking action is very similar to way you would do it in real life, remember that and you will do well".
Key Features:
• Ascend an enormous mountain equipped with only a hammer and a pot.
• Reflect on insightful philosophical commentary as you navigate the challenges.
• Expect anywhere from 2 to potentially infinite hours of agonizing, yet compelling, gameplay. Our playtesters averaged 5 hours to complete the game, though the true average remains elusive.
• Brace yourself for repeated setbacks and the loss of your hard-earned progress.
• Discover new depths of frustration you never knew existed.
