The central narrative follows a Cossack, who makes a heroic sacrifice during the retreat of Khmelnytsky's troops at the Battle of Berestechko. The Cossack, along with a small band of soldiers, bravely holds off advancing Polish forces, enabling the survival of numerous comrades. Ultimately, he is the sole survivor, facing capture and certain death. Choosing a desperate act, he attempts suicide, but the rifle misfires, and the river's current carries him away. He awakens on the enigmatic Khortytsia Island.
This island exists in a realm called Warp, allowing travel through time to aid Ukrainian warriors. Khortytsia Island is a sanctuary for the restless souls of warriors who find no peace. The Cossack's act of suicide, an unforgivable sin, becomes his only path. His soul, like others, can inhabit Ukrainian heroes during pivotal moments of life and death, shaping the course of history.
Each embodiment unfolds as a separate interactive story. The game emphasizes action over lengthy descriptions or dialogue. Players make crucial choices: Hit, Kill, Cut, or Fire. The fate of the embodied hero determines the soul's return to Khortytsia in Warp.
