AwaasApp is an Android-based mobile application designed to streamline the process of rural housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAYG) scheme. It empowers beneficiaries and designated inspectors to efficiently manage and monitor the progress of house construction.Beneficiaries or their representatives can directly use the app to report the physical progress of their house under construction. This reporting triggers the release of subsequent installments of financial assistance, ensuring timely support for completing their homes.
Designated PMAY house inspectors can utilize AwaasApp to inspect houses constructed under PMAYG or other rural housing schemes. The app seamlessly integrates with AwaasSoft, the Ministry of Rural Development's (MoRD) e-governance solution for rural housing, facilitating comprehensive monitoring.
For PMAYG beneficiaries, login is secured through a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their mobile number registered on AwaasSoft during house sanctioning. Inspectors use their existing AwaasSoft portal login credentials.
AwaasApp's key feature is its ability to capture high-quality photographs with time-stamps and geo-coordinates at each construction stage. This ensures accurate documentation and facilitates the prompt disbursement of financial assistance to beneficiaries. Uploaded images are then verified by the Block office on AwaasSoft, completing the inspection process and ensuring transparency and accountability.
