About Nonograms:
Originating in Japanese puzzle magazines, Nonograms were popularized by Non Ishida's "Window Art Puzzles" in 1988. The name "Nonograms" was later coined by James Dalgety in the UK. These puzzles utilize numbers as clues to represent unbroken lines of filled squares in rows and columns. For instance, a clue of "4 8 3" signifies sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, separated by at least one blank square. Nonograms can be black and white or colored, with colored clues indicating the color of the filled squares. Hanjie puzzles have no size restrictions and are not limited to square layouts. The concept of Griddlers was implemented as early as 1995 on handheld electronic toys in Japan under the name Picross - Picture Crossword.
