Dr. Rahat Indori, born on January 1, 1950, in Indore, was the son of Rafatullah Qureshi, a cloth mill worker, and Maqbool Un Nisa Begum. He passed away on August 11, 2020, leaving behind a legacy as one of Urdu literature's most celebrated figures. He completed his Schooling at Nutan School Indore and graduated from Islamia Karimia College (IKDC) Indore in 1973. Furthering his education, he obtained his MA in Urdu literature from Barkatullah University Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) in 1975. Dr. Indori's mastery extended to both prose and poetry, culminating in a PhD in Urdu literature from Bhoj University of Madhya Pradesh in 1985 for his thesis, 'Urdu Main Mushaira.'

Dr. Rahat Indori was a highly acclaimed celebrity, Urdu poet, and Bollywood lyricist. Before his fame as a poet and lyricist, he was a pedagogist of Urdu literature at Indore University. He was immensely popular among his millions of fans worldwide for his poetic brilliance and unique style of presenting mushaira.

For over 40 years, Dr. Rahat Indori continuously performed in Mushairas and Kavi Sammelans, captivating audiences with his powerful words and charismatic presence. He traveled extensively across the globe to recite his poetry, attending poetic symposiums in nearly every district of India and making numerous trips to countries such as the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Mauritius, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
