The new Tagesschau app delivers the most important and up-to-date news of the day directly to your smartphone or tablet.

In Story mode, intuitively swipe through the latest top headlines from Germany and around the world for a quick news overview. Access the full articles by swiping up on each headline.

The completely redesigned Tagesschau app allows you to navigate between sections using the tab bar navigation. You can always access the Top section by pressing the Tagesschau icon in the bottom left corner. To the right, you'll find the new section where all editorial content can be displayed sorted by subject area.

In the new "For Me" section, we offer personalized news. You can select the federal states* from the ARD network (Das Erste: BR, hr, mdr, NDR, radiobremen, rbb, SR, SWR, WDR) that particularly interest you. Personalization is anonymous, and your personal data is not stored.

For the first time, the subject areas also include content from the Faktenfinder editorial team. Other subject areas include News, Inland (Domestic), Ausland (Foreign), Investigativ (Investigative), Wirtschaft (Economy) with Börse (stock Market), Wissen (Knowledge), Sport (Sports), Video, and Wetter (weather). In the app, you will find current news from ARD and Sportschau. The app Draws on ARD's worldwide network of correspondents.

Behind the video symbol in the navigation bar, the new Tagesschau app now shows the best content from the Tagesschau's social media team. Here you will also find the current livestream and videos of past broadcasts, including Tagesschau (also with sign language), Tagesthemen, Tagesschau in Einfacher Sprache (Easy German), and Tagesschau24. The proven "Tagesschau in 100 seconds" is perfect for a quick news update on the go!

Behind the headphone symbol in the navigation bar, you have access to all audio content from the Tagesschau editorial team. You can either access the most important topics from the editorial team in an always up-to-date playlist or use the Tagesschau's podcast offerings.

Optionally receive all breaking news from the Tagesschau editorial team via push notification on your device – be notified live when something important happens! The premium push informs you about other important content from the Tagesschau editorial team. And if something might be particularly relevant to you, there is also the option of finding out about it via the personalized push, which is based on your usage habits.

The new Tagesschau app can switch between Light and Dark Mode according to your wishes and allows you to adjust the font size to your needs. You can also choose on which start page the app should begin in the settings.

The Tagesschau app and its contents are available free of charge. We recommend a flat rate for accessing the livestream and videos from mobile networks, as otherwise higher connection costs may be incurred.
