Taipei Medical University Hospital (TMUH) is revolutionizing traditional healthcare by integrating technology and medical care, striving to develop smart healthcare solutions that provide the public with more comprehensive and technologically advanced care.

Starting in 2018, TMUH developed the "Healthcare Blockchain Platform" and launched the blockchain-based "iWellChain Passport" service. Through smart contracts signed by individuals, a personal digital health identity (e-identity) is created. Using the app on mobile devices with personal public and private keys, users can securely access complete medical records, examination images, and other medical and health checkup information.

In late 2019, TMUH upgraded the app to enhance service quality with the new version – "iTPass App (Personal Health Blockchain Passport)." In addition to integrating the original "iWellChain" service, it incorporates the government's tiered referral system and serves as a personalized health manager for patients, offering comprehensive services from pre-diagnosis to during treatment and post-discharge (back to the clinic).
