Site Editorial Commentary:Nipun Lakshya App tests student's learning levels against the Nipun Lakshya

The Prerna Lakshya app is developed by the Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh (Government of Uttar Pradesh) under the Nipun Bharat Mission. This app is designed for mentors to conduct spot assessments of students in grades 1 to 3, aligning with the competencies defined within the Nipun Bharat framework during collaborative supervision.

These competencies specifically focus on foundational literacy and numeracy, including a student's ability to read with a minimum reading speed (correct words per minute), reading comprehension, and the ability to solve mathematical problems.

To use the application, mentors can select the UDISE code, class, and subject to conduct spot assessments of students. Upon completion of the assessment, a scorecard will be displayed, enabling mentors to provide effective feedback to teachers.

note: Internet connectivity is required during the initial use of this application. Subsequently, the app can function Offline. However, it is recommended to stay connected to the internet if available. To enhance the reading assessment, it's essential to install the Read Along (Bolo) application on the phone. Once installed, the language must be set to 'Hindi', and the partner code 'upprerna' should be added (using the upper left-hand menu button).
