The formal name, "Chaktrang," is derived from the Sanskrit word "chaturanga" (चतुरङ्ग), highlighting the game's ancient Indian origins.
Similar to international chess, Ouk Chaktrang is a two-player strategy game. However, in Cambodia, it's common for two teams to participate, amplifying the excitement. Typically, Cambodian men gather at barbershops or cafes to play.
