Brevent AI Redakteursbewertung

Brevent is a powerful app that utilizes Android's app standby feature (introduced in Android 6.0) to hibernate apps, preventing them from running in the background and saving battery life. Root access is not always required, simplifying usage.

Umfassende Analyse

Brevent leverages Android's built-in app standby functionality to force-stop applications, effectively hibernating them when they are not actively in use. This prevents them from consuming system resources in the background, which can lead to significant battery savings and improved device performance. While root access simplifies the setup process, Brevent also offers a non-root option that requires using ADB. The app's interface is straightforward, making it easy to manage which apps are hibernated. However, users should be aware that hibernating certain apps may delay notifications.

Site Editorial Commentary:Prevent apps from running without Root

Brevent, a powerful app standby and force-stop tool, allows you to effectively manage background processes on your Android device. It leverages Android's built-in app standby feature (available since Android 6.0, though not supported on all devices) and offers a force-stop mechanism to prevent apps from running unnecessarily, all without requiring root access.

Brevent operates based on a user-defined list. Only apps added to the Brevent list are subject to its control. When an app is launched and subsequently closed (e.g., by tapping the Back button), Brevent will place it in app standby. If an app remains in standby for a specified duration or is removed from the recent apps screen, Brevent will automatically force-stop it. Furthermore, Brevent proactively force-stops apps that are running without any active user interface.

For apps where you need to receive notifications or perform background synchronization, Brevent offers an "allow sync" setting. Apps with this setting enabled will not be placed in standby mode, and Brevent will not force-stop them as long as they are actively displaying notifications or running in the background.

Brevent is compatible with Android versions 6 through 16. To use Brevent, you'll need to enable either "USB debugging" or "Wireless debugging" (introduced in Android 11) within the "developer options" menu on your device.

Important note for Android 8 to Android 10 users: Brevent will cease to function if debugging is disabled or if the USB connection option is changed. If debugging is inadvertently turned off when you disconnect the USB cable, please ensure you reset the USB option. In most cases, keeping the USB option at its default setting should prevent any issues.
