Hello! I am an English teacher based in Japan. Every week, I release two brand new, completely free listening lessons designed to help you improve your English comprehension.

With over twenty years of experience teaching English in Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my lessons.

I founded elllo.org in 2003 as part of my MA TESOL graduate School project. Since then, Ello English has grown into a vast resource, offering more than 2,500 free activities featuring over 300 speakers from over 100 countries. Experience a diverse range of accents and perspectives to enhance your understanding of real-world English.

Students can leverage Ello English to hone their English skills across multiple areas, including listening, reading, vocabulary acquisition, and even pronunciation and speaking practice. Our interactive lessons make learning engaging and effective.

New lessons are published every Monday, so there's always fresh content to explore and learn from.

Ello English is completely free, and I develop it in my spare time alongside my full-time teaching job. While the site's design is simple, I strive to update and modernize it periodically to provide a better user experience. This allows me to dedicate resources to content creation while keeping this project sustainable.
