Mahjong Solitaire is a captivating solitaire matching game played with Mahjong tiles instead of cards. Originally created by Brodie Lockard in 1981 and named Mah-Jongg, after the traditional game using the same tiles, it's claimed to be inspired by the centuries-old Chinese game "the Turtle". The game gained significant popularity after Activision released Shanghai in 1986 for Macintosh and Apple IIgs. Later, a version named Taipei was included in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack for Windows 3.x in 1990, and subsequently in the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack. Premium editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 feature a version called Mahjong Titans.Like any successful game, numerous clones exist across various platforms. So, why should you try this version? This version aims to recreate the fun of the original game, offering 60 different layouts within a small download size.
A tile is considered exposed if it can be moved left or right without disturbing other tiles. Matching exposed pairs of identical tiles (with Flower and Seasons tiles within the same group considered identical) are removed one by one, gradually revealing lower layers. The objective is to clear the entire layout by pairing up all tiles. The game concludes when the layout is empty or no exposed pairs remain.
