G4A: Spite & Malice is a digital adaptation of the classic competitive patience card game, designed for two players. This engaging game challenges players to strategically empty their pay-off pile before their opponent.Gameplay:
Players begin with a hand of 5 cards, a pay-off pile of 20 cards, and 4 empty side stacks. The central playing area features 3 empty center stacks and the stock pile containing the remaining cards. The objective is to be the first to clear your pay-off pile.
Center stacks are built upwards from Ace, regardless of suit. Kings act as wild cards, allowing players to place them on any center stack, effectively transforming them into the next card in sequence (e.g., a King played on a Ten becomes a Queen). Completed center stacks (ending with a Queen or King on a Jack) are shuffled back into the stock pile.
Side stacks can hold any card, but only the top card of each is accessible for play. At the start of each turn, players Draw cards from the stock pile to replenish their hand to 5 cards.
During a turn, players can make the following moves:
* Play the top card from their pay-off pile onto a center stack.
* Play the top card from a side stack onto a center stack.
* Play a card from their hand onto a center stack.
* Play a card from their hand onto a side stack (ending the turn).
The game concludes when one player successfully empties their pay-off pile onto a center stack, earning points equal to the number of cards remaining in the opponent's pay-off pile. The game also ends in a tie if the stock pile is depleted. The first player to accumulate 50 points wins the match.
