This Five In A Row app currently supports 4 common rules:

+ **GOMOKU Freestyle:** The winner is the first player to achieve an unbroken row of five or more stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Experience the pure, unrestricted form of Gomoku!

+ **CARO (Blocked rule - also called Gomoku+, popular among Vietnamese):** A strategic variant where the winner must have an overline or an unbroken row of five stones that must not be blocked at both ends: XOOOOOX and OXXXXXO will not count as a winning line. Test your tactical prowess in this popular Vietnamese twist!

+ **GOMOKU Standard:** The winner is the first player to get an unbroken row of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Overlines - A line of 6 or more stones of the same color will not result in a win. A slightly more restrained version of Gomoku Freestyle.

+ **RENJU:** Black (the player who makes the first move - X) has long been known to have an advantage. Renju attempts to mitigate this imbalance with extra rules that aim to reduce black's first player advantage. There are certain moves that Black (X) is not allowed to make:

- Double three – Black cannot place a stone that builds two separate lines with three black stones in unbroken rows (i.e. rows not blocked by an opponent's stone at either end).

- Double four – Black cannot place a stone that builds two separate lines with four black stones in a row.

- Overline – six or more black stones in a row.
