One player embodies the Ghost, a spectral entity bound to reveal the circumstances of a past murder. The remaining players take on the roles of Paranormal Detectives, using their wits and unique abilities to uncover the truth.As a Detective, you'll communicate with the Ghost, posing open-ended questions about the victim's demise. The Ghost responds through a variety of eerie methods, including:
* Arranging a hangman's knot
* Playing chosen tarot cards
* Creating word puzzles on a talking board
* drawing while holding a detective's hand
At the start of each game, the Ghost receives a story card detailing the murder, including all the crucial information. Each Detective is equipped with an asymmetrical set of interaction cards, an investigation sheet, and a player screen.
During their turn, a Detective asks the Ghost any open question and plays an interaction card, which dictates how the Ghost can answer. With 9 distinct interaction types, the game fosters creativity and strategic thinking for both the Ghost and the Detectives.
Detectives can attempt to solve the case twice during the game, by guessing the killer, the location, the motive, the method, and the weapon. The Ghost secretly scores each attempt on the Detective's investigation sheet.
