How to Play 101 Okey:
101 Okey is played with four players over multiple rounds. The goal is to finish the game with the lowest possible score. The player with the least points at the end of all rounds wins the game. Points are determined by the numbers on the remaining tiles in your hand (e.g., a red 3 = 3 points, a black 11 = 11 points). The game can end either when the deck runs out of tiles or when a player completes their hand.

The game consists of a set number of rounds (e.g., 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 rounds). Each round lasts until one of the players finishes their hand.

At the start of each round, one player is designated as the dealer. The dealer distributes 21 tiles to each player and 22 tiles to themselves. The remaining tiles are placed face down on the table, with one tile placed face up. This face-up tile determines the joker (OKEY tile). Play proceeds counter-clockwise. The player who dealt the tiles starts the game by discarding a tile without drawing one. The next player can either draw a tile from the deck or take the last tile discarded by the previous player. After drawing a tile, a player can open their hand (lay down their sets on the table) if the total value of their sets reaches 101 or more. If a player cannot open their hand, they must discard a tile to end their turn. A player must always discard a tile at the end of their turn, even if they open their entire hand.

To open your hand, you must have at least 101 points worth of sets. Sets can consist of three or four tiles of the same number but different suits (e.g., a black 5, a red 5, and a blue 5) or consecutive numbers of the same suit (e.g., a red 7, 8, 9). A set must have a minimum of 3 tiles. To add tiles to existing sets on the table, a player must have already opened their hand with at least 101 points. You can both open your hand and add tiles to existing sets in the same turn. If a player takes the tile discarded by the previous player, they must use it immediately. If the player has not yet opened their hand, they must open their hand when taking the discarded tile, and the discarded tile must be used in one of the sets they open. It is not allowed to keep the discarded tile in your hand without using it. If the discarded tile cannot be used to form a set or open the hand, it is returned to its place, and a tile is drawn from the deck. There is no penalty for this mistake.

Another way to open your hand is to collect at least five pairs of tiles. A pair consists of two identical tiles. If a player opens the game by going for pairs, they cannot open a normal set in that game. However, they can add tiles to the sets that other players have opened on the table. If all four players open with pairs in the same game, the round is canceled, and a new game begins. No players receive penalty points in this case.
